A deep purple hue with nearly black tones. This vintage is made with the finest shiraz grapes from select vineyards - 'Original Vineyard' and 'Mia Mia Vineyard' of the south, as well as 'Mt Pleasant Vineyard' of the north. Only the toughest of vines survive the vigorous climate of Heathcote, and their bunches were meticulously handpicked. Crisp yet indulgent, 5% of the blend has been left as whole bunch to exude a refreshing zest. The nose carries aromas of charcoal, spice and compote of red fruit. On the palate, the velvety texture showcases violets, blue and black fruits alongside a concentrated flavor of plum and chocolate. A firm grip leads to a lengthy, tannin-rich finish. Resting in 90% new French and 10% new American oak barriques for 23 months.
