"To commemorate the winery’s 50th anniversary, El Coto Reserva 2015 was produced from a selection of the most representative vineyard in each official zone of Rioja, and pays homage to the historic region. This one-off special edition is a celebration of Rioja, a land of great diversity and wealth in winemaking, where its forebears made an art of combining different climates, soils and grape varieties. This wine comprise of two varieties, with the Tempranillo grapes coming from Finca El Villar in Rioja Alvavesa and Cuartos del Martillo in Rioja Alta, both known for their Atlantic climate that is cooler and with more rain, while the Graciano comes from the Finca Los Almendros estate in Rioja Oriental, where the dry, hot climate is perfect for this grape variety. The result is an elegant wine that is well balanced and complex, with aromatic notes of sweet spices, cacao and ripe fruit, with a meaty mouthfeel and an incredible long finish."
