Billecart-Salmon Les Rendez-vous No.3 is a recent addition to their range, made of 100% Meunier grapes which are rarely used in Champagne. It is crafted from the historic terroirs of Leuvrigny, Festigny, and Venteuil in the Marne Valley, where the distinct character of the region's Pinot Meunier varietal shines. The vineyards in Leuvrigny and Festigny are situated on the left bank of the Marne Valley, with an eastern and southern exposure and limestone subsoil. On the right bank in Venteuil, the vines face south and grow in loamy soils. No.3 is primarily made from 2015 grapes, with 30% reserve wines from 2013 blended in.
"Real breadth of interesting autolysis on the nose. The Pinot Meunier perhaps shows itself in a slight lack of deep-flavoured follow-through but it really is lovely on the nose. Bone dry but not austere. An interesting bottle of very well-made champagne with sufficient depth. Drink 2022–2025."
