"At one time, this was released as the Estate Cabernet Merlot, and while this does still have some merlot in the blend (a small portion of Q45-14 clone) it is less than 15%, hence not on the label. Varieties fermented separately; matured in French oak for 17 months (50% new). The calling card for this wine has long been the soft tannins and it is recommended if you have the patience, to hold for at least 5 years to allow them to melt into the fruit. As it stands, the powerful 2018 vintage is on show, making for one of the more robust and intense iterations of this wine."

"Deep and complex nose with notes of cassis, black cherry, lavender, peppermint and graphite. Some blue fruit, too. It’s full-bodied with polished, velvety tannins and deep, meaty structure. Great balance and length. Polished texture. Drink or hold. Sustainable. Screw cap."
