"Lovely opulence and perfume from the start, full of dark cherry, damson plum, earth and spice, a touch of orange peel and clove; slightly smoky, too. Lots to enjoy here. A finely textured palate, quite velvety but with ripe tannins providing good backbone and structure. Nicely balanced. Impressive concentration in what was a trickier year."
