"The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Saint-Georges 1er Cru has a very well-defined, complex bouquet that puts the preceding Les Vaucrains in its place. Here there is clearly greater focus and terroir expression, subtle sous-bois scents permeating the black and red fruit. The harmonious palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, seamlessly integrated new oak and a silky-smooth finish exerting judicious grip. Very classy."

"Here too there is just enough wood to mention on the equally ripe liqueur-like aromas of red and dark berries, spice and pungent earth scents. The slightly sleeker and tautly muscular flavors aren't quite as big-bodied though there is plenty of size and weight to them while complementing the structured, serious and mineral-driven finale. This too will require extended patience if you wish to see it at its apogee."
