Taittinger selects only the finest vintages to be adorned by an artist for the Taittinger Collection, which currently comprises 13 editions. For its Brut Millésimé 2008, Taittinger chose photographer Sebastião Salgado, marking the first time a photographic artist has been featured. This Franco-Brazilian artist is renowned for his powerful work depicting strikingly beautiful images of humanity, animals, and the planet. His latest publication, 'Genesis,' released in 2013, served as the inspiration for the image chosen for the Taittinger Collection. The black and white photograph captures a leopard drinking from the Barab River Valley in Damaraland, Namibia, representing honesty and truth.
"Taittinger's complexity is apparent here on the nose of this complex, rich and deeply powerful vintage Champagne. Flinty struck match reduction, toasty yeasty notes and bright lemon-infused citrus notes are all bursting from the glass amid savory, chalky minerals. The palate has a bold lemon citrus and peach fruit flavor to it, really saline, minerally and contained. Some glossy brulée-like notes to close."
