Magis, the Latin word for "more, much more," was carefully chosen by Saouma as they expect exceptional quality from their white Châteauneuf-du-Pape. After two years of aging in barrels, this unique blend of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Roussane, and Bourboulenc is crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The barrels originate from the Jupilles forest (Pays de Loire) and the wine matures for two years on the lees, with periodic stirring. While only 3% of Chateauneuf is white and usually bottled after six months, Rotem & Mounir Saouma Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Magis 2020 is already being compared to some of the finest white Burgundy crus for its depth and mineral notes. This wine has a rich and dry mouthfeel, featuring distinct notes of yellow apple, yellow plum, and white peach, complemented by hints of shortbread, macadamia nut, and verbena. The finish is impressive yet maintains a clean and sharp edge, with a lingering aftertaste of hazelnut.
