The 2013 Ermitage “De L’Orée” is a profound and richly layered white Hermitage crafted from old-vine Marsanne grown on the famed Les Murets vineyard. The nose reveals complex aromas of ripe apricot, quince and baked pear intertwined with notes of acacia honey, toasted almond, vanilla and delicate spice. On the palate it is full-bodied and beautifully textured, showing remarkable concentration balanced by freshness and a long, mineral-driven finish. With its depth and evolving complexity, this wine pairs superbly with butter-poached lobster, roasted turbot, creamy poultry dishes, foie gras or aged cheeses such as Comté and Beaufort. A magnificent Rhône white capable of ageing gracefully for many years.
