MacMuir is a north-facing vineyard planted on deep silt, clay and gravel soils near Calvert. It produces one of Felton Road’s darker, more savoury Pinot Noirs, combining generous fruit with firm structure and distinctive mineral character.
Brooding aromas of dark cherry, blackberry and pomegranate mingle with violet, dried herbs, cocoa and baking spices. Medium-bodied yet concentrated, the palate delivers raspberry coulis and black cherry over fine, chalky tannins and juicy acidity. Graphite, iron-rich earth and wet-stone notes bring savoury complexity to the persistent finish. Refined and pure, with considerable underlying power.
Have it with roast duck, venison, herb-crusted lamb, grilled beef, char siu or earthy mushroom dishes.
