A richer, more polished expression of Barbera from one of Monforte d’Alba’s most respected names. Trevigne shows a deep ruby-purple colour with generous aromas of black cherry, baked plum, blackberry, violet, sweet spice, mocha and a touch of vanilla from oak ageing. The palate is medium to full-bodied, juicy and expressive, with Barbera’s signature bright acidity balanced by ripe dark fruit, smooth texture and a creamy, rounded mouthfeel. The finish is long, fresh and savoury, making this both satisfying on its own and excellent with food. Excellent with tomato-based pasta, lasagne, pizza, grilled sausages, roast pork, veal Milanese, braised beef, charcuterie, meatballs, mushroom risotto, roast chicken, lamb chops and semi-aged cheeses.
