A benchmark Rioja of remarkable finesse and depth, the 2019 Viña Ardanza opens with layered aromas of red cherry, plum and redcurrant, intertwined with classic balsamic tones and complex notes of vanilla, clove, licorice and sweet spice from extended American oak ageing. On the palate, it is silky yet structured, with vibrant acidity and finely polished tannins carrying flavours of ripe red berries, dried herbs, tobacco and a subtle earthy nuance through to a long, savoury, spice-laced finish. Exceptionally balanced and already expressive, yet with clear ageing potential, this is a classic, high-performing vintage of Ardanza. Ideal with roast lamb, Iberico pork, grilled beef, game dishes, barbecued meats or aged cheeses, where its freshness, spice and savoury depth elevate richer flavours.
