"There’s a bit more depth and weight to Ferrous this year, making it particularly appealing now even with the perky, crunchy acidity making a mark. Plenty of fleshy tannins, woody spices, chinotto, ironstone, red cherries and pips along for the ride."

"One needs to sit with this in the glass before it unravels from sweet and sappy New World fruit to something gritty, finer boned and savory. I've liked the cuvee in the past and I still do. Strawberry, orange peel and hint of shiitake and clove. Yet what makes this mid-weighted wine are the tannins, earthenware and, as the name alludes, ferrous and of place. Very good drinking across the mid-term. Drink or hold. Screw cap."
