Sourced from a steep, north-facing parcel of schist-rich Lochar gravels in The Elms Vineyard, Block 6 is one of Felton Road’s most distinctive and sought-after Chardonnays. The 2023 was fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured predominantly in seasoned French oak, allowing the vineyard character to take centre stage.
Generous aromas of Meyer lemon, white peach, nectarine and orange blossom lead into a broad, creamy palate layered with lime curd, yellow apple, stone fruit and subtle pastry notes. Bright, finely integrated acidity and pithy mineral tension keep the wine precise, culminating in a long, energetic finish.
Pairs well with butter-poached lobster, seared scallops, grilled turbot, roast chicken with herbs or creamy mushroom dishes.
Delicious now with some air, but ideally 2026–2036.
