Situated beside Block 3 in The Elms Vineyard, Block 5 is generally the more graceful and perfumed of Felton Road’s two flagship Pinot Noirs. Its mature vines and varied clay, loess and schist-gravel soils produce exceptional finesse, depth and mineral definition.
The 2024 opens with lifted florals, raspberry, boysenberry, Morello cherry and dark plum, layered with sandalwood, thyme and nutmeg. Rich yet beautifully poised, the palate combines silky fruit with firm, stony tannins and vibrant acidity. Savoury herbs, dark minerals and subtle oak spice shape the long, precise finish. More elegant and linear than Block 3, but equally serious and age-worthy.
Pair with roast duck, venison loin, herb-crusted lamb, pigeon, beef Wellington or truffle and mushroom dishes.
If opened young, decant for at least two hours. Drinking window: 2028–2045
