A pure and expressive Langhe Nebbiolo from Monforte d’Alba, Capisme-e means “understand me” in Piedmontese dialect — an invitation into the world of Nebbiolo. The 2024 shows a bright, pale ruby colour with lifted aromas of cranberry, red cherry, rhubarb, rose petal, wild herbs, spice and a gentle hint of liquorice. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and elegant, with lively acidity, fine Nebbiolo tannins and a long, savoury red-fruited finish. Compared with full Barolo, this is more immediate and approachable, but still carries Clerico’s signature precision, purity and Langhe character. Excellent with tomato-based pasta, agnolotti, tajarin with ragù, mushroom risotto, vitello tonnato, roast chicken, pork loin, veal, duck, truffle dishes, salumi, pizza, grilled sausages, lamb chops and semi-aged cheeses.
