This Burgundy wine comes from a top 1er Cru site in Gevrey, near Clos St. Jacques. Produced from 70+ year old vines with 30% whole clusters, it is fermented with native yeasts and aged 17 months in 70% new barrels. The wine is unfined, unfiltered, and shows notable complexity.
Concentration develops elegantly on the palate, exhibiting a clarity that is not consistently found in this vineyard. The advantageous location of the vines near the Combe de Lavaux mitigates the risk of over-ripeness during warmer years and ensures excellent acidity throughout. Additionally, the wine presents a refined mineral character complemented by delicate floral notes.
