This bottling of 100% Pinot Meunier expression sourced from 40-year-old vines in the south-facing Vrigny vineyard. Low yields and ripe fruit, combined with Egly's winemaking, make this among the most complex and layered of its kind. Unfined and having just one gram of dosage per litre, it offers vibrancy and notes of ripe pear, yellow flowers, and a hint of nuttiness. Refined and elegant, it is sure to impress!
"Issuing from four parcels planted with Pinot Meunier in 1970 and vinified entirely in tank, Egly’s latest release of the NV Les Vignes de Vrigny is based on the 2020 vintage and incorporates 50% reserve wines (from 2019 and 2018). Offering up an expressive bouquet of pear, rye bread and red cherry, it is medium- to full-bodied, fleshy and fruit-forward, with ripe but racy acidity and an expansive finish. It was disgorged in October 2024 with one gram per liter dosage."
