Petaluma has a single-minded focus on producing wines of high quality, and a respectful sense of place. The Coonawarra Merlot fruit is extremely limited and sourced from a small patch of dry grown, low yielding, vertically trained vines. Hand pruned and hand picked, 22 months oak maturation.A deep brooding, dense rich dry red. Ripe plums and blackcurrant aromas and flavours are backed up with subtle delicate oak. The palate is full, luscious and rich with loads of black fruits and cedar oak. Abundant tannins and sweet fruit, typical of low crop Merlot frame the finish.
