"Aux Echezeaux, Combes Dessus, En Champ. 70 to 120 year old vines, 20 hl/ha, 50% whole bunch in the decorticated style, with the main stem removed. One third new wood. Not the deepest colour, crimson purple, but this is a wine which is all in finesse, like Arnaud’s Ma Cuvée but with a tensile thread that takes it to a higher level, superb on the palate, all red fruit"

"Mortet's 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Très Vieilles Vignes is superb, offering up aromas of dark berries, loamy soil, black truffles and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, it's deep and vibrant, with a seamless profile and a long, penetrating finish. For some 50% of this cuvée, Mortet's team processed the harvest manually, cutting out the clusters' central rachis while retaining the grapes and their pedicels intact."
